Saturday 3 January - Workshop based on the work of Annie Morris

Children will discover the poetic and colourful world of Annie Morris, an artist who combines sculpture and painting to create delicate, balanced forms that seem almost alive. She composes her works using simple shapes, deep colours and materials that she carefully assembles to create sensitive and mysterious pieces. Participants are invited to imagine their own creations by modelling, layering and painting different elements: three-dimensional shapes, paper, pigments and textures.

Throughout the activity, they learn that sculpture and painting interact with each other like a harmonious interplay, where each part has its role to play in telling a new story. Observation, patience and creative freedom are honoured, offering children a space to explore the poetry of shapes and colours.

Saturday 17 January - Workshop based on Callum Innes

In this workshop for children, we explore the world of contemporary artist Callum Innes, known for his mysterious paintings and his astonishing ‘unpainting’ technique. After observing his works, the children experiment with this unique process themselves: painting, then erasing, revealing traces, layers and surprises.

Throughout the activity, they will learn that creating is not just about adding colour, but also about removing, transforming and revealing what lies beneath. This fun and sensory workshop encourages exploration, patience and freedom of expression, while opening a door to the poetry of shapes and materials.

Saturday 31 January - Workshop on Jean-Michel Othoniel

In this workshop for children, we explore the poetic world of contemporary artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, famous for his sculptures made of giant beads, glass and sparkling shapes. After observing his works, the children explore this iconic motif for themselves: assembling, repeating, stringing, playing with colours, transparencies and reflections.

Throughout the activity, they will discover that creation can arise from simple, patient gestures, that repetition becomes rhythm, and that each unique bead contributes to a larger form. This fun, sensory workshop encourages concentration, imagination and freedom of expression.
